Nicola Viriato is a Master's student in Social Studies of Environment and Sustainability at the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE), (2023-2025). He graduated in Biological
Sciences from the University of International Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusophony, (UNILAB-Brazil), (2019-2023), where he was also a scholarship holder of the Biology
Pedagogical Residency Program (2022-2023) and the Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program-PIBID (2020/2022). He acted as a volunteer member in the Teacher Training
Project for Teaching Science and Biology - ForBIO (2021-2022). He has participated in several academic conferences, presenting papers such as: “CLIMATE CHANGE: THE
CASE OF OCCUPATION OF WETLANDS IN BISSAU, GUINEA-BISSAU” at the 1st UNILAB-UFBA Seminar on International Relations (2021) and “EXPERIENCE REPORT:
THE PRACTICE OF ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION IN THE SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT” at the 5th Brazilian Congress of Environmental Sciences and Technologies (IV CBCTA), 2021, Cascavel/PR. His main research interests include environment and sustainability, focusing on energy transition and energy poverty in Africa, especially in Guinea-Bissau.
