The Firefly Lab is a growing research lab dedicated to the study of energy poverty, energy efficiency, sustainable cities and buildings, and a just and sustainable energy transition.
We are framed within the Center for Environmental and Sustainability Research (CENSE) and the Global Change and Sustainability Institute (CHANGE),
NOVA School of Science and Technology of NOVA University of Lisbon, Portugal. We are anchored on a robust transdisciplinary science-based approach leveraged by different expertise and a wide group of partners and entities at a global scale.
Our activities range from national and international research projects and policy support, and also private and public consultancy projects.
We believe a strong outreach component is a critical element of global systems transformation, and as such, we promote our activities through a wide variety of channels and mediums to reach different target audiences.
Develop integrated evidence-based knowledge to inform and foster awareness and action among stakeholders toward buildings' energy efficiency improvement, renewable energy integration,
and energy poverty eradication for a socially just and sustainable energy system.
We are committed to informing society, policymakers, local governments,
and businesses for impactful and effective decision-making in the areas of climate change mitigation and adaptation, with a particular focus on the dimensions of sustainability and regeneration.
