On April 8th, the Cascais City Council approved its Municipal Energy Poverty Mitigation Plan, aligned with Portugal’s Long-Term Strategy and the goals of the 2030 Agenda. The vision is clear: eliminate energy poverty in Cascais by 2050.

This plan strengthens an already innovative ecosystem focused on energy justice, which includes:

• The Green Support Fund for Families in Cascais, offering progressive support with a focus on the most vulnerable households;
  -Two active Energy Spaces from the ADENE National Network;
  -Public housing retrofitting and energy efficiency programs;


• Social support initiatives for families in need.

To mark the World Energy Day, a special event was held to showcase the physical and financial progress of the Green Fund, share testimonials from local social institutions and families already benefiting from it.
