Energy Markets (EEM) is a leading European conference covering the latest developments in energy markets.
For the last 20 years, the EEM has been bringing together experts from academia, industry, and policymakers to discuss cutting-edge topics in energy markets. These include approaches and solutions related to energy modelling, market design, regulatory policies, climate change, technological developments, among others. In addition to the core areas, the recent editions have given more emphasis on energy storage, renewable and synthetic fuels, and energy citizenship.
The conference's long tradition started in 2004, with the first edition in Lodz, Poland, and continued to Warsaw and Kraków in 2006 and 2007, respectively. The next conferences were held in Lisbon, Leuven, Madrid, Zagreb, Florence, Stockholm, Cracow, Lisbon, Porto, Dresden, Lodz, Ljubljana, Stockholm, Ljubljana, Lappeenranta, and Istanbul.
In 2025, the 21st International Conference on the European Energy Market (EEM25) is hosted by ISEL/Polytechnic University of Lisbon and took place from May 27 to 29.
The EEM25 three-day program includes plenary sessions with keynote speakers from recognized energy institutions, industry, and prominent academics, as well as scientific sessions that cover a wide variety of energy markets-related topics.
