ESA RN12 'Environment and Society' mid-term and 'Energy and Society' network 7th joint conference.
Conference presentation: Analysing the integration of the Social Domain into Local and Regional Energy Policies in Portugal - Katherine Mahoney presented the preliminary results of ongoing research undertaken in the scope of the ENTRACK project, exploring how social concerns are embedded in climate change, environmental and energy policies with a specific focus on the framing of a "just transition" within these policies. The presentation focused on the Portuguese case and the embedding of social values in policies across scales (from the national to the local).
Workshop facilitation: Participatory Systems Mapping Workshop to Understand User Engagement in the Energy Transition on Campuses - Katherine Mahoney co-facilitated a workshop with Timothy Marcroft, PhD student at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Norway, who undertook a research visit at NOVA between September and December 2024. Professor Daiva DumĨiuvienė and Associate Professor Meda Andrijauskienė, both from the School of Economics and Business at Kaunas University of Technology, supported the facilitation of the event and participated in the workshop. The workshop engaged participants in a participatory systems mapping exercise to build a causal loop diagram depicting user engagement in the energy transition on campuses.
