João Pedro Gouveia at the roundtable “Energy Justice and Inclusion: Equitable Access to Investment and Technology
The Organizing Committee of the 9th Annual Conference of the Portuguese Association for Energy Economics (APEEN) is honoured to announce that the roundtable scheduled for March 20, 2026, will focus on the theme: “Energy Justice and Inclusion: Equitable Access to Investment and Technology”, where experts will debate how to ensure that the energy transition leaves no one behind. The session will explore challenges and solutions to promote fair access to finance, innovation, and clean technologies, highlighting opportunities to reduce inequalities and strengthen social inclusion in the energy sector.
Ana Rita Antunes – Coopérnico
Ana Rita Antunes is an Environmental Engineer from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, with a master's degree in the area of energy efficiency, from the same University, is a founding member and currently Executive Coordinator at Coopérnico - the first renewable energy cooperative in Portugal - and member of the General Council of “ZERO – Association for the Sustainability of the Earth System”, a national environmental non-governmental organization.
Bruno Veloso – ADENE
Bruno Veloso is a PhD candidate in Energy Systems and Climate Change at the University of Aveiro and holds a Master’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Aveiro. He is currently the Vice-President of ADENE – the Portuguese Energy Agency, where he previously served as Advisor to the Board of Directors. Before that, he was a Member of the Executive Committee of the Innovation Support Fund and Chair of the General Assembly of the venture capital fund "FAI Portugal Ventures Energias." He also worked as a Telecommunications Engineer at Vodafone Portugal, S.A., and as a Consultant at Justbit Company, later developing his professional activity at PT Inovação, where he completed a professional internship in Engineering and Management Services. He served as a Member of the Portuguese Parliament during the 10th Legislature.
João Pedro Gouveia – NOVA FCT
João Pedro Gouveia is an Environmental Engineer holding a PhD in Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policies. He is a Principal Researcher at the Center for Environmental and Sustainability Research (CENSE) and thematic line coordinator of Circular and Carbon Neutral Economy at CHANGE – Global Change and Sustainability Institute. He is an invited Professor at FCT-NOVA University, Portugal. He has over 17 years of experience in research and teaching activities, international funding acquisition, projects leadership, and team management. João Pedro is part of the Coordination team of the EU Energy Poverty Advisory HUB for DG Energy of the European Commission.
Miguel Oliveira – University of Aveiro
Miguel da Silva Oliveira has a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra, and completed his Master’s degree at the same institution in 2010. He is also a certified specialist in Electricity and Energy by ISEC. He is a co-founder of SCUBIC, where he serves as COO, and is currently Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Economics, Management, Industrial Engineering, and Tourism at the University of Aveiro, teaching courses in Energy Management, Industrial Energy Systems Installations, and Energy Systems for Industrial Facilities. He is responsible for the maintenance and operation of electromechanical equipment in water and wastewater networks at Inova-EM. He also works as an energy manager for several industrial companies. Additionally, he designs CHP systems and self-consumption photovoltaic units (UPACs) for a wide range of applications, from the residential to the industrial sector. He is certified as the Responsible Technical Operator for the operation of various medium-voltage electrical installations.
