Workshop on Electrification and Decarbonisation of Buildings: Challenges of the Energy Transition

June 02, 2026 from 10:00 to 14:00

Participants: João Pedro Gouveia

On 2 June, Lisboa E-Nova and DECO PROteste are hosting the workshop "Electrification and Decarbonisation of Buildings: Challenges of the Energy Transition".
At a pivotal moment for the energy transition in buildings, marked by the revision of the EPBD Directive, this in-person event invites reflection on the opportunities and obstacles of building energy renovation.

Through a dialogue that brings together institutional, technical, and operational perspectives, the workshop will cover the new regulatory framework, financing models, and the requirements for future zero-emission buildings (ZEBs).

The workshop focuses on sharing practical solutions and success cases. It will present real results from pilot projects, analyse the viability of collective systems, and discuss lessons learned in overcoming technical and financial barriers. The format is multidisciplinary, with moments of direct interaction with the audience, and is aimed at those seeking to anticipate regulatory trends or find answers to implementing efficient systems.
The workshop will take place in person at Hotel Eurostars Universal.

Dr João Pedro Gouveia was invited to the round table speaker.
