The Encontro Ciência e Inovação 2026 will mark the first major event held by the Agency for Research and Innovation (AI²).
The call for proposals on discussion topics received significant community engagement, with 206 submissions between 26 May and 16 June. The proposals will be organised into 20 sessions across six macro-areas: Digital, Health, Environment and Territory, Industry and Energy, Society, and the Science and Innovation Ecosystem.

The submissions involved more than 1,200 participants and around 1,000 distinct organisations. R&D Units are involved in 96% of the proposals, followed by companies (63%), associations of various types (49%), and Public Administration (44%).
