Two productive days in Torres Vedras for the 3rd LIFE LOCATEE plenary meeting

This week, the LOCATEE consortium met at the Environmental Municipal Centre of Torres Vedras. The venue suited the topic well, since it also hosts the municipality’s Energy Space Desk, a one-stop shop that helps citizens tackle energy poverty and adopt efficiency and renewable solutions.

As the project enters its final year, our discussions focused on:

-The EPMS tool: how it estimates energy poverty, how it looks in each country, and what is still needed before it reaches users

• Municipal practice: annual plans from Torres Vedras, Rumia and Piraeus to reach our KPIs through local contact points
  -Linking EPMS with SECAPs so that energy poverty evidence feeds into local climate and energy planning


• Launch, replication and training: bringing 32 more municipalities on board and keeping the tool in use after the project ends


• Research outputs: bottom-up building-stock modelling for renovation planning, and data, prioritisation and justice in place-based retrofit targeting
