Exciting News: HORIS - Home Renovation Integrated Services Project Kick-off

We are off! LIFE HORIS project kick-off meeting was held on the 21st and 22nd of September in Lisbon!

HORIS is set to make a significant impact on the way we approach home renovation and sustainability in the European Union. This groundbreaking project builds upon the success of the Green Menu (#MenuRenovaçãoVerde), a digital retrofitting platform piloted by us in Portugal during an EIT - European Institute of Innovation and Technology Climate-KIC funded project.

Why is this project so important, you ask? Well, approximately 75% of EU building stock is currently energy inefficient. Addressing this issue is not only pivotal for the environment but also a key priority outlined in the European Green Deal.

So, what's our mission? HORIS aims to enhance the energy efficiency of residential buildings while simultaneously combatting energy poverty.

Our approach involves the expansion of the Portuguese version (www.menurenovacaoverde.pt) and the creation of two new digital one-stop-shop (#OSS) in Spain and Italy to empower homeowners throughout the home renovation process.

We understand that homeowners often face significant barriers, from uncertainty about energy savings to choosing the right professionals and navigating financial complexities.

The HORIS OSS will offer guidance on #energyefficiency improvements, #renewableenergy solutions, and support for those facing #energypoverty.

Our platforms will simplify the entire home renovation journey by providing reliable and relevant information, helping homeowners identify sustainable options, and even offering financial, legal, and technical solutions.

But we can't do it alone. HORIS is a collaborative effort that engages with small and medium-sized stakeholders, including local and regional public authorities and non-profit organizations. Together, we will establish a network of approved home renovation service providers.
