Energy Poverty is a multidimensional and complex concept, which is normally understood as the inability to satisfy energy requirements or adequate environmental conditions. However, operationalizing this concept and quantifying it has been and is a challenge, particularly because it is associated with specific conditions of each context and place. In recent decades, efforts have been made by the countries that make up this network to address problems associated with energy consumption and climate change, from energy poverty and environmental well-being. However, these efforts have been carried out individually or bilaterally, so bringing together researchers and institutions from Ibero-America through this network will unite efforts and facilitate collaboration in these climatic and sociocultural contexts that they share. challenges and, therefore, can build joint solutions. Therefore, RIPEBA aims to study, evaluate, and generate indicators and strategies for sustainable design and construction for buildings in order to reduce energy poverty in Latin America and improve environmental well-being, promoting the use of clean and safe energy in a post-pandemic and increase exchange and transfer of knowledge and technologies.
