Cláudia Henriques

MsC Candidate at NOVA University of Lisbon



Cláudia Henriques holds a degree in Physical Engineering from the Nova School of Science and Technology at the Nova University of Lisbon (FCT-UNL), where she also completed a postgraduate degree in Sustainable Cities.
She works at the Regional Energy and Environment Agency of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (AREAM), participating in working groups that develop and monitor sustainable energy strategies and action plans at regional and local levels. She is also involved in research and demonstration projects focusing on energy efficiency, renewable energy, climate change, and sustainable mobility. These projects consider the unique characteristics of European islands and outermost regions, and most of them are conducted within European consortia. She also contributes to energy awareness and literacy initiatives for various stakeholders and population segments.
She is currently in her second year of a master's degree in Public Policy at the ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon's Sociology and Public Policy School (ISCTE Sociology and Public Policy), conducting research for her final project on public policies to address energy poverty, focusing on the Autonomous Region of Madeira as a case study.
