MsC Candidate at NOVA University of Lisbon
Thalita Alencar is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Sustainable Urbanism and Spatial Planning at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. She holds an undergraduate degree in Architecture and Urbanism from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, where her thesis, titled "Sustainable Urbanism for Mitigating the Urban Heat Island Effect in São Paulo," focused on sustainable urban planning and its impact on urban heat islands.
Her research career includes significant contributions to various projects. From 2019 to 2020, she worked as a research assistant on the project "The Importance of Women in Urban Planning and the Construction of the Parelheiros District" (PIBIC Mackpesquisa) and, from 2021 to 2022, she participated in the project "Environmental Comfort Applied to School Architecture in a Post-Pandemic Context" (PIVIC Mackenzie). Additionally, she served as a monitor at the Environmental Comfort Laboratory at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, supporting students in their research and projects.
She is deeply passionate about sustainable architecture, thermal comfort, and urban planning, and is interested in investigating the influence of sustainable urbanism on climate change.
