YOHANNA Paul is an experienced environmental researcher with a solid academic background in Environmental Management (BTech), Environmental Resources Planning (MSc), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education. He began his teaching career at the primary school level in 2008 and transitioned to university-level teaching in 2018, focusing on environmental resources management..
Yohanna’s professional experience includes working with several NGO projects, such as the USAID Education Crisis Response Project in Northeastern Nigeria, which addresses education challenges in conflict zones. He has also contributed to UNDP/GEF projects aimed at combating desertification and malaria booster projects sponsored by the World Bank-assisted program, which focuses on sustainable health and environmental interventions.
His research interests lie at the intersection of energy access and climate change, particularly emphasizing the multidimensional impacts of energy poverty in developing countries, especially across Africa. His current PhD research explores the role of clean energy solutions in mitigating climate change vulnerability and promoting sustainability, employing the Multidimensional Energy Poverty Index (MEPI) for in-depth analysis.
Yohanna is passionate about fostering climate resilience through research-driven solutions in energy access, carbon sequestration, and biodiversity conservation. In addition to academics, he enjoys traveling, playing games, and engaging in quiet, reflective moments.
