The government is considering changing the rules of the 'Vale Eficiência' due to the lack of applications: "The program is not reaching people"

"Of the two programs to subsidize work at Portuguese homes, one exceeded expectations, and the other failed miserably. While the 'Buildings + Sustainable' program had more than three times the number of applications expected for the first year, the 'Vale Eficiência' program ', aimed at the most vulnerable families, did not reach the minimum number. The government wants to change the rules to reach more families"

The burden on companies was aimed at not making the process bureaucratic for families, some with degrees of illiteracy that could keep them away from help. However, most companies have refused to carry out the work. “There are many testimonies of people who have been searching for a year to find a company”, says João Pedro Gouveia.
