Researcher at NOVA University of Lisbon
Katherine has a PhD in Environment and Sustainability (2024) from NOVA University of Lisbon (024). She holds a BSc in Environmental Management from Manchester Metropolitan University and an MSc in Environment and Public Policy from Cranfield University. After completing her MSc degree, she worked for 2.5 years on a government-funded community retrofit project in the UK. With a desire to develop her knowledge of this topic in an academic setting, Katherine began working as a Researcher at the Centre for Environmental and Sustainability Research (CENSE) at NOVA University Lisbon in 2018. Katherine's doctorate focused on the linked but sometimes competing agendas of climate change, energy transitions, and energy poverty in Portugal. Alongside her doctoral work, Katherine participated in the Energy Poverty Action: Agenda Co-Creation and Knowledge Innovation (ENGAGER 2017-2021) research network. Katherine also participates in the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH) and the EU LIFE ENTRACK project.
